Baszta Dziewicy jest pozostałością najstarszej wschodniej części miejskich obwarowań, wybudowaną w XIV wieku. Przy cylindrycznej budowli zachowały się fragmenty dawnego muru kurtynowego. Wejście do baszty znajduje się na wysokości pierwszej kondygnacji.
Obiekt został wpisany do rejestru zabytków w 1961 roku. Położona między ulicami Dąbrowskiego i Drukarską, baszta jest własnością miasta, jednak dostęp do niej jest obecnie utrudniony.
